Testrun Prompts

I.

For those looking for an evening of marvel or romance, many are drawn to the Descanso Gardens and their Enchanted: Forest of Lights exhibit. The gardens are lit up in beautiful colors with lit paths to accentuate the beautiful scenery.

What brings you here tonight? Are you on a date? Did you get suckered into watching someone’s kids (or have kids of your own) and are trying to get them through something nice without them killing each other or themselves? Or perhaps you are stalking a potential target and trying to hear some of their conversations. The darkened gardens have plenty of places to slip away and converse - or listen - undetected after all.

II.

With Lunar New Year just around the corner, the Asian American Expo is once again returning to LA. This massive event takes place over a huge expanse of 8 exhibition halls, with a wealth of vendors, three entirely different food courts representing a number of Asian cultures within LA, exhibits celebrating anime and manga, there’s something for just about everyone here.

Are you yourself Asian American, or even an immigrant wanting to celebrate your culture? Are you an American Otaku wanting to geek out about the latest anime and manga? Do you really, really like Dim Sum? This Expo is the perfect place for you!

While the temperatures hovered around a brisk, but not too chilly 70s, there are still places in balmy Los Angeles to get a taste of a winter wonderland, artificial as it. In the financial district of the city is the Pershing ice skating rink, where not only one can do a triple axle or circle the ice to the one’s frosty heart’s content, it often host DJ events, disco nights, and even curling - if you want to know what the fuss is all about. Now the question is, how good are you at skating, and how much do you care if others see your skill (or lack therefore of?)

Filming on location is standby for feature films, but nothing beats the gritty mystique (and the cost savings!) of filming in Los Angeles, and one Dustin Buboire, teenage song sensation has decided to have his film debut on your street, a dream for fans of the would-be actor, but a nightmare for anyone looking for a bit of peace and quiet, what camp do you fall under?

V.

Los Angeles is not a city known to major temperature variances. With summers reaching upwards to 100 degrees and winters hovering around 60 to 70 degrees, it is generally warm, arid and hot. However, it is a desert, and when rains come to the desert, they often come quite hard. So it is that today it is raining, pouring, really, with a flash flood advisory expected to extend for the next few days at least, highly unusual for the area.

And with this torrential rain, that means Mementos is awash in powerful shadows. With the streets awash in water, traffic is more nightmarish than usual, accidents are far more likely and tempers are flaring. In Mementos itself, this translates to an increase in the incessant, distant honking noise that pervades it, and with more shadows, some of whom will begin the battle in a frenzied rage. Unfortunately, a Phantom Thief’s work is never done. Are you in Mementos to train? Change some hearts? Either way, it’s going to be rough going.

Now Arthur appreciates music. Hell, he'd refused to come out here without his trusty six string guitar. But he detests bland, samey radio drivel, which is exactly how he views Dustin Buboire. After shouting abuse out his window, he got a far, far better idea.

So as Dustin is trying to film Arthur's got his window wide open, his amp pressed right against it and the setting on max. If they're gonna interrupt his day with their shitty music, he's gonna blast some of his own right back over them. If you don't like the Sex Pistols or the Smiths...well then you've got terrible taste and Arthur doesn't give a shit if this is ruining your day.

Being English, Arthur had scoffed at the warning of rain. He had lived in rain for the majority of his life, so he liked to think he could handle a bit of water falling out the sky, even if in Mementos.

He soon realised he'd made a grave error.

The honking had quickly grated down the last of his patience (which was never that ample to begin with). Even when the shadows lunged at him in a frenzy, he returned the favour with equal fury. "PISS. OFF!" he roared at the latest one to show itself. He couldn't even cross a room today without one showing it's ugly face!

[ II. ]

[ Enjoying the general air of the expo, Kang can't help but appreciate seeing something familiar. There's plenty of Chinese areas, and you can bet he's been to all of them, for food and otherwise.

Eventually, after talking to a vendor, you can see him slowly sliding something into a small cardboard box. ]

Rip me off, will he, well I'll teach him a lesson or two--a good bang ought to put his morals right... where did I leave my gunpowder? Oh, in my shoes! Of course! Give it that extra kick.

[ ... Oh dear god someone stop him. ]

[ V. ]

[ Kang enjoys the heat, like the weirdo he is. The rain makes him unhappy, though, and you can see him walking down the street in the most bizarre anti-rain getup anyone has ever invented. He's carrying what looks like a picnic basket full of... god only knows. ]

Rain, what a problem. Can't explode things when they're wet. Have to watch out for wet bandits here to plunder the lot. They sneak in like water and then they're in your sink... oh, such a mess and--a penny!

[ Annnd he's mumbling to himself. Don't worry, he just... does that. He bends over to pick up a penny off the sidewalk. Very distractable this one. ... Probably the only reason he's still not arrested is the fact everyone in the community knows him, and thinks he's just the local weird old guy who mumbles to himself. Always the weirdo with the odd mechanical glasses and the big hats, this guy. ]

[ VI. ]

[ You're here for one reason: you need weapons in the Metaverse. And Kang is here to make money, so he is going to supply them to you. But he hands over the lot, and they look... really strange. Like, super weird. All of them are in silver banana-shaped metal casings. And the lockpicks look like figure eights.

... He's an Operator but you all probably wish he wasn't sometimes. You know he's a good Operator. You know his weapons are good. But why this. ]

Here you go, just what the doctor ordered! Should be quite an impressive fireworks display, oh yes. Now no exploding anything until you've had an hour for your food to digest, or else you'll get cramps.

Jin Kisaragi | Blazblue

[ II. ]

[ Being part of the Kisaragi household and all that hoity-toity stuff entails, and basically being the heir to a major family-owned corporation, Jin is here to observe the expo and how it's going, because you can bet his family probably helped sponsor it.

But he looks bored out of his mind, like nothing, not any of the colorful food, artwork, or vendors interest him. In fact, his eyes seem glazed, and like he'd rather go sleep somewhere than deal with this. ]

... Boring. I have better things to do. I could be studying.

[ Why does he have to oversee this for his family? Oh, right. They adopted him to be the heir because the real brothers were incompetent. Go ahead and approach, he probably won't bite. Probably. ]

[ IV. ]

[ ... He's definitely in the camp of "this is a nightmare", and Jin seems to be giving the guy the cold stare from not that far away. It's too much effort to remove him from here, even though he could, but god that racket is the worst. ]

... This is what I get for taking a walk, isn't it.

[ V. ]

[ He is certainly, definitely in Mementos to train. In fact, he seems to do it almost mechanically. Dispatch Shadow. Ice. The flick of his rather sizable katana. Death, death, death. He's cold and efficient, almost like a killing machine in battle. And he never bats an eye as he does it. When some particularly powerful Shadows really show up, he just lets out a slight noise. Surrounded... could probably use some help. But he's not going to ask, and he's too stubborn to do that. ]

... You're worthless. Just another rung on a ladder. Move.

[ He flicks his sword out of its sheathe. This blade--passed down in his family for generations... a special katana given to the heir of the Kisaragi household. It's been maintained so it still has its edge. And he practiced with it quite often. Even his Persona reflects that upbringing: named for his sword, Yukianesa. He summons her to take out another Shadow with some ice, but... it appears to be resistant. ]

... Tch. Of course they have to be impediments like this.

[ It's not like he's alone, right? Someone should probably do something. ]
